Wildcat softball with 15-3 road win at Mifflin County

LEWISTOWN, Pa. – The Central Mountain softball team solidified its hold on the top seed in District 6 Class 5A on Thursday with a 15-3 road win over Mifflin County. Junior standout Camdyn Weaver again paced the Lady Wildcats, scattering 10 hits pitching and clubbing two doubles and a single at the plate.

CM led from the get-go, three runs in the top of the first and another in the second for a 4-0 lead. Mifflin County got to within two, down 5-3 after five but the visitors exploded for five runs in the sixth and five more in the seventh.

Central Mountain exploded for 17 hits. Aubrey Miller and Elise McKean joined Weaver with three hits each, Miller with a double. Aubrey Eiler had two hits, including a triple, Cirstyn Watson in with a single and a double. Maren Davis had a double and singles came from Payton Williams, Payton Hull and Carleigh Davis.

Weaver went the distance in the circle, giving up the 10 hits and three runs while striking out 10 and walking two.

The Lady ‘Cats are now 10-4 on the season, Mifflin County 3-13. Central Mountain is off until next Wednesday, May 13, traveling to Jersey Shore (13-4). The Lady Bulldogs won the first meeting between the two rivals by a 4-3 score in April.
