Keystone 11 Season Ends in 13-2 District Championship Loss

The Keystone 11s District All-Stars concluded their postseason run on Tuesday, falling 13-2 to Montoursville in the District 12 championship game. Having previously lost 6-4 to Montoursville earlier in the tournament, this second defeat in the double-elimination bracket officially ends Keystone’s season. The roster for this year’s All-Star team includes Greyson Cowfer, Marshall Davis, Easton Feerrar, Freddy Gundlach, Logan Hanley, Westin Heeman, Declan Heimer, Bentley Leone, Whitt McCloskey, Brady Proctor, Carter Shellman, and Logan Strouse.

Montoursville established an early lead in the contest, scoring 13 runs on nine hits and six walks. Daniel C. earned the win for Montoursville, pitching a complete four-inning game and allowing two runs on four hits while striking out one.

The Keystone offense totaled four hits on the day. Bentley Leone, Easton Feerrar, Logan Hanley, and Marshall Davis each recorded a single. Whitt McCloskey and Marshall Davis scored the team’s two runs, while Whitt McCloskey, Freddy Gundlach, and Declan Heimer each drew a walk.

Keystone utilized three pitchers in the matchup. Carter Shellman started the game, allowing five earned runs on four hits and three walks with one strikeout over one inning. Logan Hanley pitched two-thirds of an inning in relief, allowing six earned runs on three hits and two walks with one strikeout. Bentley Leone pitched the final 1.1 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk while recording one strikeout. Keystone committed one error defensively, while Montoursville finished the game with no errors.
