CM grad Aidan Major receives minor league promotion

EASTLAKE, Oh. – A solid start in his first year of pro ball has earned Aidan Major a minor league promotion. The Cleveland Guardians posted word Tuesday that Major has been promoted from the organization’s Low Class A affiliate Lynchburg (Va) to High Class A affiliate, the Lake County (Oh) Captains.

It’s expected the Central Mountain High grad will make his first start for the Midwest League team member at home on Wednesday. The Captains are located in Eastlake, a suburb of the parent team Cleveland. Major compiled a 2-1 mark with an ERA of 3.47 in 12 starts for the Howlers; he struck out 41 in 49 innings of work while walking 18.

Major had his two best showings in his last two starts after a nearly two-month absence after he was hit in the face by a line drive in late May.

The former Wildcat/West Virginia grad is in his first year of pro ball. Major, now 23, started his professional career in April with the Howlers after recovering from surgery to his right arm in 2024. Family members are expected to be in attendance on Wednesday when he makes his Lake County debut. He was a fifth-round Guardian draft back in 2024 following his junior season at WVU.
