Clinton County Sports Stream Friday Special: Bucktail vs Sugar Valley

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Taggart Park in Lock Haven Friday afternoon will be the site of the Bucktail – Sugar Valley baseball game, part of a modified Phoenix schedule in which the Loganton-based school will play two games on their Taggart home field. The Buck-Phoenix game will start at 2:30 p.m. and will be streamed on Clinton County Sports.

After the opener, Sugar Valley will host Neumann Regional Academy as the Phoenix are working with a weather-related adjusted schedule; the team is seeking to qualify for the District 4 play-offs for the first time in school history.

Sugar Valley had planned for the Bucktail game to be its Military Appreciation contest but with the rescheduling from this past Wednesday has had to modify that plan. According to athletic director Tyler Koser, Sugar Valley will still be wearing its military alternate uniforms in honor of those who have served.

Unfortunately, the Veteran Affairs representatives and color guard are unable to attend because of the rescheduling, according to Koser. “However, we would still like to recognize and thank all veterans in attendance. Any veteran who joins us will receive a complimentary hot dog and drink from our concession stand.”

Koser said the school will also be honoring John Ripka, grandfather of one of the SV players, for his service to the country. Ripka served aboard the USS America and worked at the Naval Hospital in Philadelphia, along with serving in several other naval facilities and operations throughout his military career.

Friday’s 2:30 p.m. match-up will be streamed on Clinton County Sports. The live stream can be viewed at ClintonCountySports.com, its YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/@CCSports-LiveStream and the CCS facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/clintoncountysports
