Terrors hold off Bucks, 28-20

FARWELL, Pa. – It was a match-up of two first-year head coaches (kind of) and on Friday night Otto-Eldred’s Brian Neal went home a winner, his Terror squad downing Bruce Ransom’s Bucktail team by a 28-20 score. While Neal is O-E’s first- time head coach, Ransom is in his second stint directing the Bucks’ program.

The Bucks fell behind by a 14-6 count at the end of period one and the visitors from West Sunbury opened a 22-12 halftime lead. The Terrors stretched the margin to 28-12 after three, but the Bucks made things interesting when Levi Stevenson scored a fourth quarter TD to bring the home team to within 28-20. But Otto-Eldred was able to run out the clock and secure the win.

Terrors quarterback Ryan Schenfield proved to be the difference in the game, completing 12-of-19 passes for three touchdowns and 192 yards; he also rushed eight times for 33 yards. In addition to Stevenson’s score, Buck touchdowns were scored by Corbin Pentz and Stephen Heiser.

The loss dropped Bucktail to 0-2 on the year. Next action won’t be until Friday, Sept. 18, hosting the Moniteau Warriors (0-2). Moniteau fell to St Marys by a 34-0 score on Friday night and has been outscored 89-0 through its first two games. Otto-Eldred is 1-1 after its win in Farwell.
