MILL HALL — The Central Mountain Wildcat volleyball team delivered a dominant performance Thursday night, sweeping the visiting Central Dragons in three straight sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-12) to improve their overall record to 8-3 on the season.
While the Wildcats controlled the tempo from the opening serve, the defining moment of the evening came in the second set when senior setter Chloe Confer etched her name into the school record books. Confer dished out her 1,000th career high school assist. A brief celebration was held prior to the third set as she was met by her brothers with a banner on the court to honor the landmark achievement.
Riding the momentum of Confer’s milestone moment in the third set, Central Mountain turned on the jets, rolling to a decisive 25-12 victory to seal the sweep.
The Wildcats will look to keep their winning streak alive this weekend when they return to their home court on Saturday, September 26, to host Somerset. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
