The Bucktail Lady Bucks rallied for a thrilling victory, not only on the court but also in raising awareness for a crucial cause, during their annual “Pink Out” game against the Millville Quakers on Wednesday. In what could potentially be a preview of the opening round of the District 4 1A girls basketball playoffs, Bucktail walked away with a 54-38 win. The night painted the gym in shades of pink as players, fans, and staff united to support breast cancer awareness.
Despite a slow start, where Bucktail could only manage 4 points in the first quarter, the Lady Bucks refused to back down. Their defensive grit kept them within striking distance, trailing by just 10-4 entering the second. Fueled by the energy of the “Pink Out” crowd, the Bucks flipped the script in the second period. A dominant offensive display saw them pour in 20 points, with Makenzie Wagner leading the charge with 11 points.
